With reference to Neil Patel, content marketing is a long-term strategy that focuses on building strong relationships with your target audience by consistently delivering high-quality, relevant content that educates and, ultimately, sells (n.d.). The company that I chose to focus on for this week's discussion is Cricut. Cricut is a business that specializes in craft machines and accessories. Approximately 6 years ago, I decided to expand my small business in a manner that I am able to digital die cutting, as opposed to doing manual (hand) cuts. Being new to the market, I did some research and learned about Cricut and Silhouette. However, I decided to go with Cricut.

Cricut did a much better job at getting their products out. Their marketing strategies are always on point. Even to this day, they make me feel as though I have a need to purchase every single product that they put out. They tend to utilize a lot of micro influencers via YouTube to get their products out.

Overall, Cricut does a very good job utilizing the internet, and making their products very user-friendly. They have even created a Facebook group where Cricut owners can meet to get help or useful tips. I think that Cricut is doing a great job at using technology to their advantage. Silhouette on the other hand, needs to do a better job at pushing their brand in the market. In my opinion, they aren't as prominent in the market as Cricut. A great way to start would be to make their software more user friendly that way, they will attract more persons who aren't as tech savvy. This way, they can have a more competitive advantage in the market.
