With technology advancing the way it is, I think to some extent, it can help humans with a lot more task than before. The margins of error is decreasing and things have become more efficient with AI. They have not removed anyone from the firm, they just have moved them to work more on the client side of things. The key thing here is, that they are not taking over, AI is just there to help. There are some things AI will not be able to do as well like skepticism, judgment, analysis, and understanding technical accounting. I do agree with the skills that accountants have to learn, but it will take a lot longer than what they expect in my opinion
