Now, to simulate the null hypothesis, you shuffle the cards and then deal one pile of 12 to represent the females and another of 8 to represent the males. Work out the mean of each and the difference and start to plot a diagram like Figure 8.2. Twenty shuffles should be enough to see the rough pattern. Alternatively use some data of your own.
