WORLD FLY AIRLINE (WFA) World Fly Air (WFA) or better known as FWA is the third low-cost airline in Malaysia. This company operates domestic and international flights at low-cost medium fares which is the largest in Southeast Asia. This airline was established in 2000 and started operations in early June 2000 . This company was founded by Dato' Mr Fly with an initial working capital of approximately RM 500,000. This company is the first airline in Southeast Asia to introduce online ticket booking and also the first in the world to introduce ticket booking using SMS. Its main base is at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KL.IA). This company is involved in the medium fare aviation industry and further expanding its market by introducing its other subsidiary airlines such as FWA Indonesia, FWA Thai, FWA Singapore, FWA Philippine and will follow in other countries later. The following information is a analysis conducted by the top management of WFA to help them penetrate new markets and compete in the Southeast Asian region and the world. WFA strength and weakness analysis a) WFA has a very strong management team with strong relationships with government and aviation industry leaders. This is partly contributed by the background of various executive management teams consisting of industry experts and former senior government officials. b) The management team is also very good in strategy formulation and implementation. WFA Weaknesses a) WFA does not have its own maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities. This was probably a good strategy when they first started with just Malaysia as a hub and a few planes to look after. b) WFA receives many complaints from customers about their services.
