Chapter 8 discussed many important roles of quality management like functionality, system outputs, performance, reliability and maintainability. It dived into tools and techniques for Quality control but an important addition to that is communicating quality metrics. Controlling quality is important but leadership needs to discuss quality choices, how we measure it and how we respond with the team. Quality programs encourage employees to report incidences that are outside of the standards. Reporting can have an impact on a project because issues can be identified and resolved quickly. Working in a startup facility has been a great experience in quality. Facility readiness project teams need to ensure the manufacturing rooms are free of contaminants and maintain air quality. Every person going in and out has to be responsible for maintaining the quality and communicating those efforts is essential to success. Quality is reduced when the team becomes complacent and doesn't have the proper line of communication.
