write a comment to this post:According to Pearlson et al. (2020), a project is "a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. Temporary means that every project has a definite beginning and a definite end" (p. 246). Additionally, the end product or service is different in some distinguishing way from all similar products or services. All projects have stakeholders: anyone (or firm) involved in the project with an affected interest. Common stakeholders include the project manager, project team, project sponsor, customers, and employees. A project also involves trade-offs between time, cost, and scope. Essential elements of a project include project management, the project team, the project plan, and common project vocabulary. Ultimately, the purpose of a project is to reach a specific goal or accomplish a specific task. Once this goal is reached or this task is completed, change can be made and/or a new project can begin. Finally, effective project management ensures successful project delivery, meeting stakeholder expectations, and achieving project goals (Pearlson et al., 2020)
