Write a Progress Report (Value 10%) Students will pick one scenario, from the options indicated below, and write a progress report. Option 1 and 2 are defined situations, or students may wish to identify their own situation and craft a progress report based on current or prior experiences or an imaginary event. Option # 1: Updating your Supervisor As office manager for the Vancouver Humane Society (www.vancouverhumanesociety.bc.ca), an organization that rescues and finds homes for abandoned and abused animals, you have been asked to come up with ways to increase community awareness of your organization. For the past month, you have been meeting with business and community leaders, conducting web research, and visiting with representative from other non-profit organizations. Your supervisor (Jill LeBlanc, Executive Director) has asked you to prepare a written status or progress report to outline what you have accomplished so far. In letter format, write a progress report to her, the address is 1234 Main Street, Vancouver, BC, V5K 1B2 Option # 2: Making Headway Toward Your Education Goal You made an agreement with a family member (parent, spouse, relative, or partner) that you would submit a progress report at this time describing the headway you have made towards your educational goal. In a letter format, write a progress report that fulfills your promise to describe your progress towards your educational goals. Address your report to your family member. Option # 3: Student Choice With approval from your instructor, use a project that you are currently working on or have prior experience with, to write a progress report. Your topic must be large enough to complete each part of your report and must take place over a period time. This will also be written in letter format and addressed to an appropriate person for the situation. Your Task In your report (a) indicate the purpose of the project or your educational goals, (b) state whether the project is on schedule/budget, (c) summarize the activities you have completed thus far, (d) discuss thoroughly the work currently in progress, and (e) describe your future activities. Also identify any obstacles you have, or expect, to encounter. Notes: In option 1, the Vancouver Human Society is only an example, it could be any human society, charity, or organization.
