write a response to the following The executive compensation "refers to the financial payments and non-financial benefits provided to the upper level management within a business or organization." (Winston&shawn) Executive compensation has long term or differed rewards over short term rewards. The executive compensation has two components. Annual bases pay and bonuses. Base pay it is the fixed element of annual cash compensation. The CEOs will not go based off this because their work is highly complex and very unpredictable. Unlike for other employees who have a set task they need to complete. Also, another reason CEO cannot go by this is because setting the CEO compensation is different from the rational process's compensation professionals. Bonuses represent single pay-for-performance payments companies use to reward employees for achievement of specific, exceptional goals. There are different types of bonuses that come in executive compensation, discretionary, performance-contingent, predetermined allocation, and target plan. I am on the fence if it is excessive or appropriate, because if we think of a regular employee who does above and beyond, they will be compensated, but if a CEO goes above and beyond should they be compensated due to them already making a larger amount of base pay
