You might also include your goals for mentorship and succession planning. 

 

My career goal and lifelong dream is to become a hospital Healthcare Administrator and work my way up to becoming a hospital CEO. I communicate with others effectively and have strong empathy and active listening skills. In addition, to having health care knowledge, a strong attention to detail and management abilities. My future goal is to pursue an MHA degree and hopefully be a CEO in the hospital.  Through diligent work, commitment, and a secure passion for people, I hope to accomplish my goal. 

 

Three professional growth and lifelong learning goals that I have are to continue building,

learning, and growing in the healthcare industry. My first step to becoming a hospital CEO was getting my degree in a subject related to either business or health care. My undergraduate degree is in technical management and my concentration is business administration. In taking these majors, it will prepare me with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a professional degree.  I have my degree in nursing with over 15 years' experience in the hospital setting. While gaining experience in the healthcare care industry as a healthcare administrator, my goal is to go back to college within the next 3-5 years to obtain my master's in healthcare administration. I know that an MHA is the most generalized degree which will teach me accounting, marketing, leadership, and business law. In addition to providing me with the knowledge of hospital operations and management that relates directly to the role of a hospital CEO. The next action plan will be to acquire professional experience in a management position so I could develop my skills and apply them at the executive level within Cleveland Clinic hospital. Once finishing my MHA degree, I hope to get an internship to shadow a COO or CEOto learn more about the role of CEO and gain useful experience and skills to obtain information about the company's operations. In addition to finding a mentor, someone who is experienced in my field, an active listener and provides honest feedback.

Upon researching certifications to become a hospital CEO is not needed but obtaining a certification can help me show my commitment to the role and my professional development. One optional certification I can get is the Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives credential offered by the American College of Health Care Executives. To obtain this certification, I must meet specific eligibility requirements and pass the Board of Governors Exam.
 In addition to taking certification courses, it can help me gain new skills relevant to my role. Additionally, by passing my certification exams, I can show potential employers that you meet a high standard of professional excellence. Finally, becoming a CEO is not an easy task but with determination and God's grace I will succeed in my goal. 

My third plan is to attend conferences for Healthcare Administration Professionals. The conferences that I plan on attending is in a specific area of focus, such as technology or disease prevention, so I could bring this valuable information back to my staff for education teaching. Attending one or more of healthcare administration conferences allows me to connect with my colleagues across the country and around the world. These events also will provide me with a chance to learn and consider some new products, ideas, or services for my facility.
