Written Assignment 2: The Rise of Wearable Technology

There are many companies that are beginning or are already in the process of using wearable technology to monitor employee performance. Imagine, for example, your fatigue and sleep levels being combined with your performance on the job to determine your overall value trend to the company. Perhaps that sounds like some dystopian vision of the future of employment. Or maybe it could be compared to an athletic endeavor, where coaches and management have a better idea of which employees are best equipped to be sent to an important meeting, give a presentation, or rise to the level of management. With the use of the Internet, wireless technology, databases, and these devices, the worker of the future could face more challenges and perhaps have more opportunities.
