After griding this slag sample in a ball mill, the diffraction peak corresponding to the (211) plane of the melilite component was observed at about 32 scattering angle, as shown in Fig. A. With increasing milling time, the peak broadening as well as the decrease in peak height was observed as summarized in Table A. Compute the variation in average size of crystallites by assuming that measured FWHM values arise only from change of the crystallite size.
