The goals of the YCJA is to prevent crime, rehabilitate and reintegrate offenders, and to ensure meaningful consequences for actions.
Task: Using what you have learned about the YCJA, as well as additional research information, you will create a video (minimum of2 minutes and maximum4 minutes in length) which addresses the questions, please write a script for me to read out for the video:
"To what extent does the YCJA meet the needs of Canadians? If you could make one change to the YCJA, what would you change and why?"
Your video should:
- Clearly communicate your answer to each question, withmultiple arguments and full explanation
- Draw upon multiple sources, case studies, and pieces ofevidence and examples to help support your ideas.
- Include a rebuttal where youidentify a differing point of view in relation to the topic, and an explanation ofwhy you don't agree with that point of view.
- While you may incorporate visuals and slides into your video presentation if you wish, yourface should be visible and you should be sure to incorporate theproper speaking skills needed in an engaging presentation (e.g. eye contact, body language, and proper tone and inflection).
