To maintain such economy level, achieving the diversity in workplace is one of the important things for every business organisation. Diversity in workplace will give a competitive advantage for a business organisation to maintain its economy level and achieve the organisational goal. So, every business organisation is giving special efforts on the hiring the employees on the basis of diverse workforce recruitment strategy. Workforce diversity is defined as the collective mixture of employees' differences and similarities (including individual characteristics, values, beliefs, experiences, backgrounds, preferences and behavior). In simple we can say that it is the inclusion of employee from different background, culture, race, sex, gender, religion, skill, ethnic group with in an organisational workplace. Workforce diversity is mainly categories in four ways; Internal Diversity: This include in what group employees are born into. Like, gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion, social economic status, and ability. External Diversity: This the characteristics like, working experience, skills, education, life experiences, religious and cultural experiences, and international experience. Organisational Diversity: This includes the characteristics within the workplace like job functions, management status, employment status, union membership, etc. Worldview Diversity: This includes the characteristics the different way workers conceptualise world events, problems, and solutions which include political beliefs, moral values, and social attitudes. From the statement we can see that workplace diversity gives competitive advantages mainly for company. As we know that there are talented people not only from some particular background but we can see they can be from different background so this strategy of hiring people from different background can bring up more talented employees to organisation. People from different background have, new idea, skill, knowledge and experience which will increase the creativity and productivity of the company. Diversity workforce provide safe and inclusive environment for employee and this kind of working environment makes employees feel more included and respected which will attract more talent people. In decision making diversity can bring different perspective from different background people which improve decision making. Providing diverse workplace will increase company reputation as they value the different background people of society equally. This will also reduce employee turnover as employees feel more comfortable and safer. Moreover, a diverse workplace has the ability to serve a diverse costumer. In business diversity helps in understanding the customers and the communities to serve them better. This is possible because this kind of workplace have employees from different backgrounds and they have knowledge and insights about different cultures. A diverse workplace can bring the company as a better representative of the community.
