You and your team have formed a company that plans to manufacture school tracksuits for primary and high school learners in Namibia. Initial research has revealed that school tracksuits are currently being imported from South Africa and this is the market you intend to enter.

The bank that your team has approached for a business loan has indicated that they would require a complete project plan in order to consider your application. Essentially, they want understand how you plan to bring this project to fruition this will provide them a reasonable degree of certainty that your project will succeed and has been planned properly. Your initial feasibility study shows that the target market would provide demand for 6 000 units (complete tracksuits) annually and that the current selling price is N$ 480 per unit. There is potential for growth in this market as you have concluded that after two years there is potential for sales of around 10 000 units annually. Your team has done preliminary studies and concluded that you could manufacture the tracksuits at a cost of around N$280 per unit.

Your task is to develop a comprehensive plan for this project follow the guidelines as described in the following sections. Your plan should include detail on the following deliverables:

• Marketing Plan what is your plan for marketing the tracksuits? How will schools know that your are an alternate supplier? How would you convince them to buy from you?
• Manufacturing Plan how will you determine what resources are necessary for the manufacture of the tracksuits? What is your plan for increasing the output volume from the initial 6 000 units to 10 000 units annually?
• Raw materials Plan how do you plan to identify and source the raw materials for the tracksuits? How would you go about identifying the materials required?
• Human Resources Plan how will you determine the people required and the associated skills?
• IT systems Plan how do you plan to control the business in terms of IT systems?
• Finances Plan what will the budget over the first five years be?

You need to detail the actions required to achieve all of the above and therefore your WBS will list the activities required achieve all of the deliverables.

The task here is to provide a project plan for developing the full and complete business plan not the actual doing of the business plan therefore, for example, marketing activities might include:

• Determine the number of schools and learners in Namibia that purchase tracksuits.
• Determine what price they are all currently paying
• Develop a marketing strategy for the business.
