You are a team leader at Game-iT video game design company. Game-iT was originally founded by two university students back in 2017 and was run by a team of five expert developers. Today, the company has a workforce of 120 people. Since its establishment, Game-iT has been able to design and sell over 16 games worldwide.

You and your team of six have been working on developing a cloud-based game (cloud gaming). Your team is taking advantage of the ongoing spread of super-fast networks such as 5G where cloud-based games will be accessible to more people than ever. This is not an easy task for you as a team leader, especially because your team consists of developers who are at different levels in terms of experience, skills, and confidence.

Among your team members, three are professional game developers with more than five years of experience. The other three team members are fresh graduates who have been with the company for only four months and have never worked on a project like this before. However, these graduates were recruited based on their brilliant IT skills which they developed during their university studies. Although the three new members have gained confidence during the past four months, because of which you no longer give them instructions as what to do, you still feel that you cannot lead them the way you lead the professional team members where tasks are fully delegated to them.

Once any team member reaches an advanced level of competence, you do not hesitate to empower them to make professional decisions on their own, as the industry you are in requires high levels of creativity which can only be unleased when given the freedom to innovate.
