You are presented with the following technical information concerning an I section beam and a rectangular box section forming part of the steam plants supporting steel framework and are asked to produce a report that illustrates the shear force and bending moment diagrams for the I section beam, and the bending stress distribution diagram for the rectangular steel box section. The I section beams maximum bending moment and it's position, and the maximum stress in the I section beam The maximum bending stress in the walls of the rectangular box section The I section beam has a section modulus of 308cm cubed And a depth of 260mm. It is simply supported at each end over a span AB of X1 metres; and carried a uniformly distributed load of W1 KN/m over its entire length and a concentrated load of Y1 KN acting vertically downwards at 2m from end A and a concentrated load of 50 KN at 2m from end B. The material modulus of elasticity E is 205 GNm-2
My values for I section X1 m= 9 W1 UDL load KN/m = 10 Y1 concentrated load KN= 80
