You are the CEO of the ABC University (the same university given in Task 1). At the moment you are faced with pandemic crisis. Many industries has shut down; like restaurants, travel. You have not taken a direct hit like those sectors. Yet you sense that to survive this pandemic and secure the future plans, you have to understand the new circumstances, recognize the new opportunities, pivot and restructure your organization with special urgency. 1) Assess your health check resilience indicators. For each resilience indicator , identify a number of different initiatives that your organization can use to improve its resilience. For example you may identify that situational awareness factor is weak. In order to improve the situational awareness, one of your initiatives may be to actively scan the internal and external environment. In terms of external environment, you can specifically examine the health of your target market (up to now, the university's growth is fuelled by international students. Will they still be your growth engine?). Be specific with your initiatives. 2) Make sure that your improvement initiatives are coherent with each other. For instance, any initiative related with innnovation requires additional investment. So you may need to make some budget cuts in your current budget plans and operational costs In this situation, you better take the employee engagement and leadership factors into account. For instance, what initiatives would you consider about employee engagement and leadership, so that you can make the budget injection to the new opportunities? Fig 1.
