You are the facilities manager for Uplevel in downtown Toronto.

Uplevel's head office building is currently undergoing extensive interior and exterior renovations. As a result, employees must be made aware of some short-term changes to accommodate the renovations.

Between February 1st and 22nd, employees must use the elevators on the east side of the building. Elevators on the building's west side are being repaired. The staircase on the west side of the building will also be closed during this period, as will the main floor cafeteria and coffee shop. The tiles in the lobby will also be replaced, so employees are advised to walk along the wood platform walkway to get to the elevators. All employees must stay off the new tile until it is finished and the barriers have been removed.

The construction company will also be building scaffolding and removing the exterior brick on the building in the coming weeks. Eventually, the brick will be replaced by a new exterior wall and added insulation. In the meantime, employees need to understand there will be increased noise due to the scaffolding and brick removal process. Employees must be encouraged to plan meetings in Boardroom B, which is in the center of the office away from the window. They also should be encouraged to keep an extra sweater at work, as it is expected that the office temperature will decrease without the exterior layer of brick.
