and extra details attend to know). You have to choose a proper design for this network and expand
its availability and increase access, with a suitable cost.
The following features must be considered for your design:
1. As a network solutions company, you have to provide hotspots that cover ALL the areas,
buildings including different departments and amenities.
2. There are 2 floors in this shopping mall. For small regular shops you will need 2 IPs
(minimum)
3. Use appropriate configuration of devices, especially for large areas and shops
4. Each corridor should be covered with internet access and cameras.

6. On this map, each 1 centimeter on the map is approximately 20 meters
Your installation should provide the ability to monitor network usage and access and your
recommendation for future needs should be based on diagnosing the network usage (Use appropriate
LAN and WAN). Moreover, communications with the central office should be covered (if needed to
connect to the internet).
You must install security cameras for every corridor (depending on its length) in addition to the regular
external spaces. 1 camera for every 200m. Your job is to handle the wired and wireless networks for all
rooms, corridors and open areas. Assume that the scale for the map is 1:2000
Use an appropriate IP class and justify the allocation of IP addresses to all kinds of PCs, servers, and
other deices statistically or using DHCP. Your design should support 50% growth (wired and wireless)
over the next 4 years.
Requirements:
1. Design a network by using a recommended hierarchical model with suitable topologies. The new
network needs to be scalable, available, high performance and manageable.
2. Produce a logical and physical diagrams that include:
a. Routers, switches and wireless access point names
b. Router interface details
c. Network addressesd. Link Speeds
3. Choose and decide the number of appropriate routers, switches and wireless access point for the
task. All networking devices must have IP addresses. Use a proper CIDR for an appropriate IP
address assignment. This should be modified if you think your design needs it by
suggesting a suitable alternative. They dont have a wired nor wireless networks installed yet, waiting
for your design suggestions.
4. Expect 100% growth of current IP requirements when determining size of subnets.
5. Switches in the main branch buildings will need to be connected in a loop, so that if one switch fails
analternative path is used.
6. The network needs to be secured especially if we are talking about wireless. Only legitimate users are
allowed to access the network.
7. Discussion on testing and verification strategies. Document your testing and verification from routers
and switches in the appendix.
8. Recommendations for future network upgrades. Deliverables: A well-illustrated formal written report.
All configurations are to be recorded in the appendix.
We will test your logical design, physical design and simulation that proves that your network is fully
connected between all parts of this campus. Do not forget that we will test your LAN and WAN
technologiesin your network architecture of choice.
