You are working as an AWS Engineer in a company named Edureka. The company is planning to migrate 500 of its applications to on cloud with few applications running on-premise, finding that majority of the applications are to be rehosted. You have been asked to plan the migration strategies to be used, realizing the optimization and opportunities to reduce managing time for applications and turning off the functionalities which are not useful.
Steps to solve:
Applications which deal with confidential data are to be migrated to new infrastructure (not on cloud) since the data cannot be exposed publicly as per the data policies of the company Legacy applications are to be kept running on the existing infrastructure
Applications that can be exposed are to be migrated to cloud to increase the scalability and performance
Applications running on cloud are to be optimized to add new features and application load time improvement by improving the infrastructure of the cloud
Applications are to be optimized during migration stage to reduce the managing time. For example, moving the application to fully managed platform like Amazon Elastic Beanstalk
Determine the functionalities that are not useful anymore and turn them off Refer the 6R Migration Strategy and determine which of them is suitable for the given steps to solve. You must complete your job within the given time-frame
