You can do this project as an individual or as a group you create. Each participant's name, student number, and contribution to the project must appear on the title page. This project creates and delivers a presentation about "What is a Canadian" based on your research and observations. Class time will be given over to delivering the presentations on 17 and 24 November: be prepared to present first on the 17th. Plan on speaking for 20 minutes or so the number of slides required depends on how you use them as you present.
By this point in the course it should be obvious that, while Canadians from St. John's NL to Victoria BC, and from the Arctic Ocean to the American border do have some things in common that makes them different from other countries, there's a lot that isn't unified. Still, as people working in marketing, you need to figure out how to appeal to the market as broadly as possible. To do that, you'll need to take a stand on "what is a Canadian".
There's obviously no one "right" answer for this": it is a matter of opinion. Still, you'll be more effective if your audience for your product or service, or your business, find themselves in the way you reflect Canadian-ness at them. So we have to act as though there is a right answer!
Your presentation will reveal who and what you think Canadians are a society that you've joined (at least for a while).
When you're watching other groups' presentations, keep open to note things they talk about that you missed or dismissed in putting your presentation together. On 24 November, you'll get one last participation question where you talk about what you've learned. So treat being in the audience as critically as you this assignment
