You find that the nucleation process described above occurs very slowly. You also find that if you add a bunch of colloidal particles, or even dust to the solution, the nucleation process occurs much faster. Explain these observations (very briefly) in light of the free energy change associated with the formation of a spherical nucleus (i.e. which term is affected?) and draw an accompanying illustration.
