You have been hired as a consultant by Georgian College to do a few things. They first want you to develop a Change Management Methodology that they can use for all types of initiatives that the organization undertakes, taking into their organizational model. The Change Methodology should outline the specific guidelines on how Georgian College would undertake Change Management Projects, such as how to diagnose for readiness for change, what an effective change manager would do, what contingency approaches should be considered, etc. How do they approach Change Management. The Change Management Methodology should be well researched taking into consideration industry best practices and reviewing of literature that is available to support the proposed methodology design. They have also asked you to develop an organizational policy discusses how to sustain change and what actions should be taken. Additionally, a Change Management template is required, using best practices in Change Management and also considering what other companies use. When developing the Change Management Template, their should be a set of instructions on how to use the template and should be work or PDF. They have also asked you to support the following Change Initiative: Note - you should use your Change Management Methodology and Template to support this initiative. Georgian College has advised all of the professors teaching, including the Dean and Associate Dean in the Project Management Diploma Program, that due to cost, they have decided that hardcover textbooks will no longer be used in the classrooms, and will move to using tablets for all course materials. Additionally, they have been asked to use the technology to the fullest in the classrooms and would no longer be able to print out paper at the college for assignments, etc, and tablets would need to be used for presentations and assignments in class; the program is going entirely electronic. Some things to consider; Gain an understanding of how the students and professors of the College would feel about such a change, the College suggested that you engage them to gather feedback on the proposed change. Data set-should be large enough to get some meaningful information. 50-75 people. Do some research to see what other schools or companies do and include this research findings in your report, to support the suggestions/conclusion to may make. What is the current status of going paperless in industry and also in education, has anyone does it, maybe ask they some of the change barriers in an interview (phone or email), etc. What sort of resistance could be expected, how will it be managed? What are some of the potential cause for resistance on this project? What responses could be used to manage any individual resistance. Your final product should be a change management plan that the leadership at Georgian College can used to manage the change around going paperless. It is not a project plan, but how they manage change of this type of initiative. The College would like to see all of this put into a HARDCOPY, nicely bound report with a coverage page, TOC, Appendix with Data and References to support your information etc. This report, should have a clear cover and clearly outline what it is and who developed it. They also asked the your submit this electronically to the sponsor through Blackboard Each group will present their Change Management Plan to the class toward the end of the semester in a 10 minute presentation using PowerPoint or Keynote.
