You have now been out of college for several years. You have recently been hired as a mid-level manager at Whiz Bang Corp., which manufactures and distributes video games and related hardware and software, You have only been at your office for a day and a half when Laurie, an expert at computer-generated imagery, comes in to see you. She complains that Ed, her boss, is constantly touching her and making lewd comments. She asks what you are going to do about it, and you tell her you will look into it immediately. After barely getting a start on the pile of paperwork on your desk, you realize that you have a luncheon meeting with Dan, who has his own software company. Dan wants to manufacture an exciting new video game in cooperation with Whiz Bang, and wants to go over some of the terms of a deal with you. Dan mentions that a similar game is already on the market.
The next day a letter from the Environmental Protection Agency asks how your company disposes of toxic chemicals used to manufacture computer drives. You arrange a meeting with the company's in-house counsel to discuss the issue. Later in the morning, you get a call from your stockbroker telling you how dismal your portfolio is doing. Whiz Bang is doing great, you think to yourself, maybe I should invest some of my money in the company's stock. Shortly after lunch, Le Shu, your human resource manager, comes in to report that a silicon chip worker often seems drowsy; she suspects drug use. She wants to know if she has the right to test him. Later in the afternoon, you have a meeting with the project manager for the new office complex the company is planning to build in an area of downtown that is being revitalized. It turns out that the city zoning commission will only approve the plans for the new structure if the company agrees to add more parking spaces and to dedicate a strip of the land behind the building for a public walking and biking trail.
