You have recently gained the position as Accommodation Services Team Leader for a non-government organisation (NGO) who employs over 240 people and provides a variety of community service programs. The Program: Assist with Accommodation; lease agreements, transition accommodation and household goods. The majority of the client group would like to live independently or semi-supported with outreach services. There is a need for a program to be facilitated by the team on living skills. Current client numbers are 62, and 20 referrals are awaiting to be processed. The organisation has identified the need to employ more staff. This is due to several factors: Primarily - the increase of refugee population to the geographical area, predominately Sudanese, Secondary - due to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding people with disabilities The team consists of 15 staff. 10 are support workers and 5 case workers. You have limited information about the team. Most have worked for the organisation for more than 3 years and you have had some interaction with them from your previous role. There is an Indigenous Worker, 2 staff have English as their second language and 1 who identifies as gay. You have worked in community services for 6 years. The last 3 years as Disability Team Leader within this organisation. You previously worked as the diversity officer for another organisation and you are younger than most of the team members in this new position.
