You have recently graduated and have just begun working for a chartered accountants firm. A senior partner of the firm was impressed with the grades you obtained during your studies and has decided you are ready to work with him on the accounts of a major client. You are keen to impress the senior partner and readily take on this shared responsibility. However, you increasingly find that the senior partner is quite prepared to let you do all the work for this major client and is often out on the golf course when he supposedly should be guiding and helping you. You do not know how to deal with the finer and more complicated details of maintaining this clients accounts. You are not sure what you should do as you want to show the firm that you are competent in your work and that you deserve the same prospects for promotion as your work peers at the end of the first year of work.
