You Make the Call

11.A nurse manager is responsible for the monitoring quality metrics related to patient falls. She believes that there is an association between the number of patient care assistants on duty and patient falls (# of falls/patient days). The nurse manager decides to analyze this data using a Pearson's Correlation. Did she make the right call?

12.A nurse manager believes a charge nurse on one of the three units she manages has created a work environment that has caused many nurses to transfer or leave the organization altogether. Before she intervenes, she decides to investigate if there is an association between the work unit of a nurse (1 = 4W, 2 = 4S, 3 = 6E) and their intention to leave (0=intends to leave within 6 months, 1=does not intend to leave within 6 months). The nurse manager analyzes the data using an ANOVA. Did she make the right call?
