The quote that stood out the most to me was, "Her light brown skin is smooth, her eyes still young and playful, oblivious to the tumorgrowing inside her a tumor that would leave her five children motherless and change the future of medicine" (Skloot 1). I saw the quote immediately as I read the story. It was one of the first lines and it stuck with me throughout. I kept looking to find a better selection however, this one stuck. It gave me a sense of sadness to me knowing this mother was leaving her children behind however she was also saving the medical world.
