A Risk Assessment Critical Tasks (in no particular order): Issue Development (7 days) Requirements gathering for: Hardware (22 days), Software (19 days) and Network (20 days) Identifying System Interfaces (10 days) Identifying Software Team Staffing Requirements (2 days) Determine & Purchase Hardware (15 days) Determine & Purchase Software (30 days) Determine & Purchase Network Equipment (30 days) Build Interfaces (60 days) Install & Test Hardware (30 days) Install & Test Software (14 days) Install & Test Network Equipment (30 days) Test System (5 days) Train Hospital Staff on system (5 days) Risk Assessment (preliminary): The most critical factor in this initiative is meeting the projects delivery date. A recent audit has pointed out the inadequacies of the current legacy emergency room system and the hospital may now have liability issues if they do not correct this situation. Since the software is being purchased from one of three reputable vendors the only consider with whether the current IT staff can build the required interfaces from this new ER System to other existing hospital systems.
