You work for a small hydro (electricity) company called Elco. You have been assigned as the project manager to implement a new billing system. Your company is replacing the old legacy billing system with a new system. They have purchased a new billing system from an outside vendor (company x).

You will need to implement the new billing system in your current infrastructure and migrate all of your customers over to the new billing system.

Elco has 100,000 customers with 2 billing cycles. 50,000 receive their monthly invoice on the 15th of the month and the remaining 50,000 customers receive their monthly invoice on the last day of the month.

You will also need to migrate over 36 months of historical invoices. Your budget is $500,000 and you have 6 months from today to implement the new billing system and migrate your customers.

Given what you know so far document the following (you may not have all the information you need to complete everything but you can make assumptions by documenting them and what steps you need to take to get the information you need).

Question 1: Identify and document the project risks and constraints and the mitigation plan for each risk and constraint.

Question 2: List the benefits and constraints of every changeover method. The changeovers are Direct cutover, Pilot operation, Phased operation and Parallel operation.

Choose what system changeover you will use for this case study and explain (justify) why you are choosing that changeover method over the others.

Question 3: Include a Flowchart of the migration process (you can attach a file to this question).
