You'll see that one of the most important contracts most people ever sign, a real estate sales contract, must be in writing. I wonder how many of you have bought or sold a house before? The same principle applies to leases of real estate, and I'll bet most of you have signed some kind of apartment or house lease in the past. Try to find a copy of some real estate sales agreement, or some real estate lease, that you've been a party to. If you don't have one, find one on line. Read through the entire thing. I know; most the time we don't bother. But our discussion this week will be to pick one or two provisions of your sales contract or lease that you think are really important, or which really surprised you. Let us know what these provisions are. I'm hoping this exercise will expose you all to some provisions you never really paid that much attention to before!
