Your company supports a large U.S. network of automotive parts retailers operating in all 50 states. You have been approached by a supplier located in Europe offering to sell you replacement catalytic converters for high end German vehicles. The quantity and terms offered are acceptable and the price delivered to your company will be about 25% lower than the sources you have been using. They are willing to supply paperwork showing the catalytic converters meet U.S. EPA requirements. The converters are stamped with the manufactures' logo and part numbers. They are however unwilling to tell you who they bought them from, since they know that you could simply bypass them and go to the source directly. You do not know the supplier however you have been able to determine that they have been in business for 10 years and the company appears to be in good standing.

1.) would you do business with them and why?

2) what would be your concerns and how would you address them?

Remember additional oversight costs money
