Your firm has just been awarded a new design/build project You will be working on the project and your first assignment is to prepare a Request for Proposal from three Geotechnical Engineering Firms. Since this is not a government funded project you can request pricing.

The new project will consist of a 35-story hi-rise condominium with a footprint of 125-ft x 225-ft. There will be an adjacent 6-story concrete garage with a footprint of 225-ft x 150-ft. There will also be a surface parking lot with a footprint of 110-ft x 100-ft.

1. For this assignment, I want you to prepare a WRITTEN proposal on no more than 2-pages double spaced. You will have to determine the number a depth of borings to request for each structure.
2. I also want you to prepare ( on separate sheets of paper) an estimate of the cost of your program assuming $40/ft of boring you are requesting. Add up the total footage of all borings and determine the price estimate.
