Your friend Michelle is a welder and works for two companies, Poly Co. and Tech Ltd. Poly Co. provides Michelle with 35 hours per week at their Lands End location during regular business hours (8am to 5pm) for which she is paid a biweekly salary. As projects change, she will work with different equipment and different teams. Sometimes Michelle helps estimate job costs. Tech Ltd. provides Michelle with 5 to 15 hours per week at their customers locations as a mobile welder. Michelle uses her own tools other than Tech Ltd.s welder which is mounted in the bed of her truck. Tech Ltd. pays Michelle $150 per hour on the basis of a standard number of hours per type of job (sometimes the work takes a little less time, sometimes a little more). Advise Michelle as to the source of income she earns from Poly Co. and Tech Ltd.
