Your personal statement is a very important part of your application. What you provide helps the university know you as an individual -- independent of grades, test scores and other objective data. Your personal statement should be prepared carefully and prepared by you. The document should be clearly and succinctly written, grammatically correct, and should not exceed two pages, double-spaced in length. Your statement should include any additional information (beyond the scope of your initial application) that you would like the Committee to know about your qualifications and motivations. Your personal statement is the voice of your application, and an opportunity to directly address the admissions committee.
