However, your listing of items that comprises variable cost in your posting raises some question. You have gone from cost to selling price. The selling price is not the cost of the product on the dollar menu. For cost purposes the items on the dollar menu probably cost $.20 per item. Thus the real variable cost will be the cost of the bun, patty, and whatever else goes on that item.
