Your team will write one reflection memo about two key ideas that you want to use in business as a manager or a change agent. You will use the Writing a Reflective Memo 450 Words found in Writing Effectively sub header in the Modules memo example as the template to follow around structure, formatting, and directions for writing a business memo. In the memo, you write about your thoughts related to the topic, using we statements, for how you think about how course content affects your thinking about management, structural design, change, etc. For each idea you will describe actions you will implement to begin using course content in a management, project management, or consulting position. In addition, you do not provide any direct quotes from any source; paraphrase an idea in your own words since a point or two will be deducted when incorporating direct quotes. I want to know what you think. Write your memo using Arial 10-point font, not using headers as you will find in the memo example. Paragraph length averages 6-7 lines, not exceeding eight lines, as you see the length in the paragraphs in the memo example and syllabus. Write to a 450-word length you need to keep track by reading the number count in the bottom left corner; I will adjust your grade to this requirement. Deviation from this amount either more or less will affect your starting grade, incorporating a one percent deviation in a reduced grade, and then grade the memo for content, structure, limpidity, focus on you, realistic design of your idea, etc., asking myself Will this work? as a practical idea. The most important thing about the memo example is the look of it in which you place your content about yourselves that you want to incorporate into your writing and management style, which includes writing well and proofreading multiple times, not making me proofread as I will deduct points. Time to write this memo will be provided in class and I want to be interactive in your thought development and writing. Write the memo to yourselves, using we statement with a verb want or need. (See Blooms Taxonomy for action verb use: Modules, Writing Effectively). You will customize what you write about yourselves in relation to course content. Write the last (4th) paragraph to include a few key ideas that you want to remember about content in the second and third paragraphs and write a one-paragraph recommendation for yourselves to act on to develop oneself as an emerging manager, moving to a leader position, if you choose so. The last sentence of the last paragraph starts with We recommend to .... (Describe the first step in your thinking). I dont want to read fluff that will affect your grade. I want to read an interesting reflective memo about how you consider two key skills to become an effective manager by describing actions and behaviors you will incorporate into a development plan. At the beginning of the class on the due date, you will hand in a paper copy of the memo and one team member will post it in the Assignments.
