You're the assistant manager of Hometown Scooters, a small business that is on the cusp of a growing trendrentable electric scooters that people can take out for a spin and pay for via an app based on the rental period. What makes your company unique is that it offers custom-designed scooters that show off the themes and colors of the city that orders them. For example, the scooters you shipped to New York ("the Big Apple") last month have green apples on them. The cities that order your scooters often see upticks in local business revenue from increased foot traffic as well as an increase in overall city pride and morale.

A small, tight-knit team of six employees reports to you. While you oversee most of the day-to-day operations of the businessincluding making sure orders get designed, completed, and shipped out on timeyou report to the general manager, who is in charge of setting goals as well as creating policy and protocols for the company.

Business is booming, and the City of Cincinnati has just ordered some scooters to try out in its downtown neighborhoods. Because it is known as the Queen City, Cincinnati has requested that its scooters' decals feature crowns or other "royal" symbols.

The problem is that Cincinnati has ordered 50 scooters, and the city wants them delivered in a week. Normally, the business can only produce about 20 scooters per week, so this is more than double normal capacity. Good problem to have, but the pressure of the deadline has left some of the employees who report to you arguing among themselves about how they are going to get this order out. It's not looking goodand the clock is ticking. They need a manager!

Your general manager has delegated this situation to you. She wants you to help her by coming up with a plan to get everyone on the same page so the scooter decals get designed, applied to the scooters, and shipped off to Cincinnati.
