In Exercise 3-9, as part of the processing of parts, an inspection is included (there’s no extra processing time required for the inspection, and during the inspection, the part entity continues to occupy the resource). Each part passes this inspection with probability 0.85, regardless of its color. If it passes, it just leaves the system, as before. If it fails, it must loop back and be re-processed, going to the end of the queue if there is one and taking an amount of time for re-processing that is an independent draw from the same processing-time distribution; parts undergoing re-processing must still be inspected (with the same pass probability) and can fail multiple times (there’s no limit on the number of failures for a given part) before f nally passing and leaving. Adjust the plots if needed so they show the entire curve. Put a Text box in your Arena f le with the same output performance measures as in Exercise 3-9, and compare them to what you got in Exercise 3-9, with a short discussion explaining any differences you f nd.
