I have extensive tutoring skills in variety of courses. I have tutored students in math, economics, accounting, finance and other business-related courses. These are my main areas of interests. I have helped students to analyze financial statements, understand economic problems and I have helped them to understand business writings. My experience will enable to assist students in various subjects/courses.
Last year summer, I worked in a school where I taught students Economics and Accounting. This experience enabled to teach each age group in the best way possible. For example, for those in the lower classes I taught using songs for them to understand more. However, for the upper classes I taught them more by administering tests frequently and I saw that this strategy worked for them. I am very passionate about tutoring; it is something I enjoy doing and I believe I do it very well. At the end of my summer program there, I got lots of wonderful feedback from parents and students and I was very glad that I could achieve so much.
Also, in my university I volunteered as a tutor in a team called peer to peer tutoring (PTPT). This is an opportunity provided by the school in order to enable students with low grades and those who need additional help to get some more help from their course mates. This program runs during the school year. this program has been a very good opportunity to help my mates who need help in some areas, and it has helped me to also learn. As the saying goes: ‘When you teach people, you also learn’. At the end of the year I won the ‘tutor of the year award’. This gave me the motivation to do more as I have a passion for tutoring and helping others. I have also volunteered in community service projects for teaching the less privileged children in my community.
I am responsible, friendly and energetic with great organizational and communication skills. Also, I have good time management skills as it is a serious core value for me as a person. I also possess strong interpersonal skills in working with students to help them be the best. It would a privilege to get this job as I would really love to help more people and work with more students. Thank you.
