Domestic seafood processing. Each year, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (NOAA) publishes a report titled Fisheries of the United States. One part of the report gives annual data on domestic seafood processing. The table below lists the annual production (in thousands of pounds) of processed fish sticks and breaded shrimp from 2008 to 2018.

a. Compute an exponentially smoothed series for the production of both fish sticks and breaded shrimp, using a smoothing coefficient of w = .5.

b. Plot both actual series and both smoothed series on the same graph. Describe the differences in variation of production over time between the processed seafood products.
