Wind turbine database. A wind turbine turns wind energy into electricity using the aerodynamic force from the rotor blades. In 2019, wind power accounted for 5 percent of all electricity generated in the United States. The US Geological Survey compiled a database of over 53,700 wind turbines in the country.
