In problem 11 of Chapter 11, we described a repeatedmeasures study showing that male college athletes significantly increased their attendance when they were required to text “in class” to their academic counselors when they arrived for class (Bicard, Lott, Mills, Bicard, & Baylot-Casey, 2012). If the study used a sample of n = 24 athletes with 19 showing increased attendance and only 5 showing poorer attendance, is the result sufficient to conclude that there is a significant effect? Use a two-tailed test with α = .05.
