Cohn, Mehl, and Pennebaker (2004) collected online diaries of over 1,000 people for the period two months prior to 9/11/2001 and two months after. Entries for each person were computer scored for Emotional Positivity, Cognitive Processing, Social Orientation, Psychological Distancing, and Preoccupation with September 11.
