Make a list of 10 physical injuries starting with 1 as the most minor (e.g., gnat bite)

and 10 as the worst (e.g., death). Keep this list in your car. The next time someone else’s poor driving bothers you, ask yourself, “How bad is it?” In other words, how much physical pain are you willing to endure to have the other drive not cut in front of you? By comparing an event to physical pain, you should be able to reduce the level of your emotional arousal.
