Previous sections highlighted the importance of creativity and innovation in improving the performance of organizations. Surprisingly, however, there is little research examining the relationship between creativity and innovation. To address this void, researchers examined the relationship between these two concepts while studying a group of 99 entrepreneurs. Specifically, the researchers examined whether two characteristics of the entrepreneur—the entrepreneur’s mood (i.e., is the entrepreneur active, enthusiastic, and excited?) as well as the entrepreneur’s creativity—influenced his or her company’s level of innovation.
