On each of the three photographs of the deformed breccia, measure the long and short axis of at least five clasts. Calculate the mean for each axis to determine the 1 + e1: 1 + e2 ratio of the strain ellipse. Write the ratio in the space provided below each photograph.
Next to each photograph is a square. A circle has been drawn in the square adjacent to the undeformed sample. Within each of the other three squares sketch a properly proportioned strain ellipse for the rock sample.
