4. Your four goals should represent several different areas; for example, academic, job, career, spiritual, family, financial, social, or physical goals. An example of a financial goal that meets all four criteria is “I will save 20 percent of every paycheck starting this Friday so I’ll have enough to pay for my auto insurance when it comes due the last week of the semester.” If you are having trouble meeting any of the four criteria in your personal goals, discuss your goal with a classmate or your professor to see if one of them can help you define that goal more clearly.
