An overfill protection SIF has been designed with a level sensor, a safety PLC, and a final element assembly. The MT for the process unit is 15 years. The logic solver is programmed to shut down the process when a dangerous failure is detected. Proof testing is performed with the process in operation. The Site Safety Index is rated at SSI 2, and demands are expected every 10 years.
