Rajski admitted that her Building Services Department does not get the respect it deserves from the staff and faculty at St. Mary’s. This is a problem, not only in schools and colleges, but throughout the cleaning industry. She even changed the name of the department from ‘‘housekeeping’’ to ‘‘building services.’’

Should the industry discard the ‘‘housekeeping’’ appellation? Even the International Executive Housekeeper Association has repeatedly considered changing its name.
